Donn Brooks

| Donn Brooks continues the tradition of his parents. His father was a
soldier and his mother was a teacher. He has served in both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air
Force and has taught Texas and United States History in the Hays Consolidated Independent
School District since 1973. He has also been a policeman, farmer and a school bus driver
and served on the Kyle Texas City Council from 1971-1975. He holds a baccalaureate degree and two masters degrees from Southwest Texas State University where he studied political science, history, counseling and guidance, and journalism. He is a 1956 graduate of Kyle High School and is active in the Kyle United Methodist Church. A grandson of Mary Whitley Fender Patton, great grandson of Robert Newton Fender, a veteran of the 43rd Tennessee Infantry Regiment, Donn Brooks is married to the former Betty Johnson of Kennedy Texas and a fourth grade teacher. Donn is the father of two children Ross Patton who attends Southwest Texas State University and Lynn Marie who is a student at Jack C. Hays High School. the Brooks family lives is Kyle Texas. He offers motivational and historical speaking in the Central Texas area while offering his book for sale. |
